The data visualization shows data from „kidnappings of persons from Western countries by terrorist groups“ between 2001 and 2015.
It was coded in Javascript using csv data sets. First I cleaned the data sets I wanted to use, so that unnecessary or incomplete information was omitted. What remained was essential data that could be used to generate logical thoughts to work with.

The following aspects are shown in different depths of the visualization.

• Date of abduction
• End date of the abduction
• Abduction year
• Region of the abduction
• Type of terrorist group
• Result of the abduction
• Period of imprisonment

The data originates from the Combating Terrorism Center of the USA.
